Saspearian (sus-spe-re-an) is a Micronation that was founded on Friday, October 20, 2017 by Emperor Anthony I. Saspearian also declared independence from the United States of America on that same date as defined in the Saspearian Declaration of Independence. The territory is about less than acre as of June 2019. Saspearian is landlocked and has 2 official citizens. The country is not currently recognized by any UN member states. A person who is a Saspearian citizen is a Saspeariard. Emperor Anthony I is the incumbent leader and the head of state. The Capital, Unueco (ooh-new-eso) means Unity in the Esperanto language, Unueco is also the largest city in Saspearian to date. The government is considered to be an absolute monarchy. Logejo (log-jay-oh) which was borrowed from the word "Loĝejo" which means residence in the Esperanto language, is the first and only province of Saspearian. Saspearian has had good relations with nations such as Astain and Yaskiule. In May of 2018 a war broke out between Ratican and Saspearian, this war became known as the Ratican-Saspearian War, which lasted for three weeks. There weren't any reports of casualties or battles. Sometime during March 2019 the Saspearian Flag Contest started and went on until November 3, 2019, "The Saspearian Flag Contest was an event that I had in mind for a very long time. It wasn't until March of this year when I decided to create the contest. I noticed that there was a lack of participation and investment before the original last day to submit. As a result, the Saspearian Flag Contest moved the date from I believe August 18 to November 1, 2019. Then in October 2019, I spread awareness regarding the Flag Contest in attempt to gather submissions from the public, by the time where you couldn't submit any more flags, I had enough flag designs to select the winners. Which ultimately ended the Saspearian Flag Contest on November 3, 2019." Says Emperor Anthony I of Saspearian.
